WELtip's design greatly improves plaque removal over normal water flossing. It is the only low abrasion system that provides unsurpassed results.
Because it is difficult to properly brush between your teeth and along your gum line, many people put solutions into their water flosser to assist in breaking down the plaque.
In pursuit of that healthy smile Americans today are brushing their teeth too hard and too long with highly abrasive products. This practice over time is wearing out their enamel and gums leaving them vulnerable to gum disease and ultimately tooth loss.
We are also having limited success reaching the problem areas that a toothbrush simply can't reach.
You probably have noticed that you cannot purchase a hard toothbrush anymore. The majority of toothbrushes available now are soft or extra soft. This is due to the fact that we are now seeing the damage that even your toothbrush alone has done over the last few decades.
We used a piece of smoked plexiglass to illustrate what abrasive toothbrushes and toothpastes are doing to your gums and enamel over time. On the left is a single use of our WELtip + WELtabs. On the right is the result of 60 seconds of brushing with a tarter control toothpaste.
We want you to brush less. Yes, we are telling you to brush less and let WELtip do the rest. After you have water flossed with WELtip, you gently brush for 30 seconds. Your teeth and mouth will have never felt cleaner.

Say goodbye to your hard or medium toothbrush
Did you know the first toothbrush was invented in 1498? How far have we evolved since then? Little has changed until now.
Only a few years ago we had 3 choices in toothbrush categories, hard, medium and soft. It was actually difficult finding a soft toothbrush as the majority sold were hard and medium. Opinions have certainly changed as we have found out what a couple of decades of over brushing has done to our teeth and gums.
If you brush at two to three times a day any plaque build up is most likely the result of the difficulty reaching into the awkward areas of your mouth. The back of your rear molars are a good example. Unless you are a python this area is extremely difficult to brush effectively!
Plaque is sticky but isn't that difficult to remove. For most people the plaque build up occurs at the gum line. The complication that arises is if you brush your gum line too roughly you can damage your gums.
The best solution is to use a water flosser with a low abrasion toothpaste delivery system. WELflosser, WELtip and WELtabs are the solution to this paradox. Water flossing is very effective at removing biofilm and plaque. By adding a low abrasion, calcium rich toothpaste to this routine we have the perfect solution.
After water flossing with our system you gently brush with your favorite ultra softtoothbrush and a low abrasion toothpaste.
WELdental's elegant solutions help you keep your teeth your entire lifetime.
Are you brushing your teeth out of your life? Water floss with WELtip.
Americans today are brushing their teeth too hard and using toothpaste that is extremely abrasive. Did you know that most 'whitening' toothpaste actually use abrasion to make your teeth whiter. This is causing serious long term damage to your tooth enamel and your gums.
You may be taking better care of the finish on your car than your teeth. While you are having your car hand washed you may have used sandpaper to brush your teeth this morning.
It would be very helpful if there was an abrasion rating on toothpaste packaging. If you research on the Internet there have been some testing of which toothpastes are low abrasion. Most major brands that claim to be whitening your teeth are rated medium or highly abrasive. The toothpaste that tested lowest in abrasion was Arm & Hammer Dental Care. Here is a list of the toothpastes that were rated low abrasion with an RDA rating of 0 to 70.
|Arm & Hammer Dental Care||35|
|Tom’s of Maine Sensitive||49|
|Arm & Hammer Peroxicare||49|
|Tom’s of Maine Children||57|
You may notice I have included Sensodyne even though it is over 70. I think the benefits of using Sensodyne to address sensitivity is worth the slight increase in abrasion. Ironically your teeth are probably sensitive due to highly abrasive toothpaste. The most abrasive toothpaste in the study was Colgate Tarter Control with a rating of 165 which is in the harmful range. Are you noticing a pattern? Toothpastes that claim to whiten or remove tarter are also slowly removing your enamel. The damage takes a couple of decades to become a serious problem so most people don't realize what they have done until it is too late.
Also take a look at your toothbrush. Softer is better and make sure you run it under hot water before your use it. This not only will help remove bacteria, it will also soften the bristles.
WELtip is going to completely change how we keep our teeth and gums healthy. We recommend using WELtip with our WELtab toothpaste for a nearly abrasion free approach to removing biofilm and plaque.
You can also use an EvoraPlus tablet at bedtime after you brush and floss. While you sleep you will be safely whitening your teeth with a low dose of hydrogen peroxide. You will also improve the health of your gums by balancing the level of good oral bacteria.
WELtip currently in the final testing stages and will be available soon. It fits all water flossers including the soon the be available WELflos water flosser.
Good and Bad Bacteria
Did you know that your mouth has both good and bad bacteria? The good bacteria helps keep your gums, bone and teeth healthy. The bad bacteria leads to gingivitis, gum recession, bone loss and ultimately tooth loss.
I'm sure you have seen ads for mouthwash claiming to treat gingivitis. While that may help kill some of the bad bacteria, it isn't getting into the gum pocket where most of the damage occurs. In order to treat early stage gingivitis you must get treatment into the gum pockets. The only way to accomplish this in your home is with a water flosser.
WELdental is the only water flosser on the market with a patented treatment tip. You place a tablet into a small container at the base of the treatment tip. We suggest a low dose hydrogen peroxide tablet that also incorporates probiotics to encourage the growth of your good bacteria. Regular use of this tablet will increase the amount of good bacteria, decrease the amount of bad bacteria and whiten your teeth.
Beginning stages of periodontal disease
If you do not treat this condition effectively you will not only experience gum loss, but also bone loss. No amount of mouthwash, flossing and brushing will effectively treat mid to late stage periodontal disease.
We will unveil our patented water flosser treatment tip in a future blog. At WELdental we continue to innovate oral care in order to simplify your life.
