Quick overview

A traditional instrument for cutting fresh pasta sheets, the chitarra (KEY-tarra) has ancient origins in the Abruzzo region of Italy. Master handcrafters from Pretoro hand-string two sets of zinc-coated steel wires on the varnished ashwood box. One side yields evenly cut fettuccine, and the opposite side, delicate angel hair. Clean with brush. Do not use water. Faithful mate to the chitarra is the rolling pin that helps flatten the dough and then press and cut it through the wires. For best results, we recommend this 20" French-style beechwood rolling pin.

Wonderful pasta maker!
This unique handmade pasta cutter is so much fun to use. Its so easy that the kids can even use it! We make beautiful long strands of fettuccine quickly and easily. And afterward, you can strum the strings to release the pasta to the sounds of ""music""

Great product
I ordered this after using one in a cooking class in Italy. The strings needed to be tightened, which is easily done with a screwdriver, but the chitarra is smooth and very well made. The pasta sheets cut beautifully. My grandchildren will love to help make noodles with this
