Hi backers! Thanks to your amazing support, we're now able to ship Podos to Hong Kong, Singapore, and Israel.
In addition, we know that paying VAT for international shipping can be expensive. We've decided that to allow as many people to enjoy Podo as possible, we're going to subsidize a lot of that cost. So please help spread the word as far and wide as possible! The more support we receive the more we can continue to bring costs down. #Everybodyin.
*Note* Please read the rewards carefully to ensure that you get the correct (lowest) shipping price. Thank you!
The Next Web: [sic] ‘I hate selfie sticks, which is why I was delighted to hear about Podo – a smartphone-controlled camera that could kill the damn things off’
Tech Crunch: ‘Capable of attaching and re-attaching to a variety of surface materials — we tried wood, glass, and cement at hardware incubator Highway1 — Podo’s camera lets you provide the photo booth experience at a moment’s notice’
Clapyway: 'This is a great re-stickable app controlled camera that’s not trying to compete with higher end cameras. Their niche seems to be all about living in the moment and having a tool that can capture that moment in an instant, in a quicker and easier real time way.'
Tech Times: 'Podo Is The High-Tech Selfie Stick You've Been Waiting For'
PSFK: 'I’m really curious to see what other people come up with, when cameras aren’t limited by the reach of our arms...I think this will allow people to be creative and spontaneous.”
Upstart Business Journal: 'It shows something about our nature that we communicate through selfies, but when you use a selfie stick every photo looks the same.'
GigaOm: ‘Meet Podo. It’s a Bluetooth-enabled camera that fits easily in the palm of your hand, and connects to your Android or iOS device’

Watch our co-founder Eddie explain how Podo works:
•Podo sticks to walls, windows, poles (basically any solid surface) using a re-washable, re-stickable pad. We added a strong magnet in there too.
•Podo shoots photo, video, time-lapse, and more. You can see a live preview of the shot before you take it, so it always turns out the way you want.
•Podo shares what you capture with ease because everything transfers wirelessly to your phone. From there you can edit, share, or do whatever it is you usually do.
The Podo App is free for iOS and Android and controls every aspect of the Podo camera. The main screen consists of a settings bar, preview screen, mode selection bar, and shutter area.
After making sure the shot looks exactly the way you want, tap the shutter, or drag and release to start a timer.
After capturing, Podo uses Bluetooth to transfer the image to your phone. It only takes a few seconds, and there are fun animations to watch while it sends!
Upon transfer, the shot will save automatically to your phone's gallery. Without leaving the app, you can then add a caption and upload directly to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr (with more to come).
There are three main modes: Photo, Video, and Auto.
Photo: Includes single shots, double exposure, burst mode, etc.
Video: Records 15-second clips (perfect for Instagram) and syncs audio recorded from your phone's microphone. You can even output the video as a GIF.
Auto: Podo captures based on time intervals. For example, Podo can shoot every 10 minutes and make an album, or combine the photos into a video. Perfect for documenting events and parties, or creating a time-lapse! And because Podo "sleeps" in-between capturing, it can shoot in auto mode for over a week.
Podo features an 8MP image sensor, Bluetooth classic, rechargeable Li-ion battery,4GB memory, accelerometer, and LEDs. The LEDs serve as indication (when Podo is on, capturing, etc.) and also serves as a really powerful flash.
We designed Podo to be super simple. Just double-tap to turn on. After the first time, Podo will pair automatically to your phone. Then, just slap Podo onto a surface and you're good to go!
The internal accelerometer makes sure your picture is oriented correctly, no matter which way you stick it on.
The really cool feature, of course, is the microsuction pad. It's not a tape or glue, so you don't have to worry about replacing it every time. We like to compare it to gecko feet, or else having thousands of microscopic suction "cups".
When it gathers dust from use, you can wipe it off with water and it'll become sticky again! For good measure, we added a powerful magnet too.
The freely rotating back flap is our solution to covering and protecting the sticky pad when not in use. As an added benefit, it also lets you adjust angles for your shot!

Thank you so much for your support! Not only will Podo become a reality, we can begin to fulfill our vision of Podo in everybody's favorite colors.
Making Podo in a new color takes development time and a minimum order quantity required by the factory. This is because they have to order massive bags of color pellets to create the plastic, as well as clean out and restart the injection molding machine for each production run, every time they switch colors.
With your support and if we reach 1,000 backers, we'll be able to release our next color! And because you all are our devoted fans and community, we want you to help decide.
The three colors that we're pursuing next are black, white with champagne gold accents, and pink. You can vote for your favorite here:
If we activate this additional color, you can choose it even if you already backed Podo and the reward text says Red or Blue. We'll be asking you for your color choice and shipping address closer to August, so you have plenty of time to decide on your color preference and final address by then!
(Above illustration for demonstration only—we'll receive physical samples from the factory if and when we successfully announce our next color.)
Back Podo today and receive your Podo in just a few months!
