LittleBig is a unique 3-in-1 bike that “grows with your child”.
It starts as a pedal-less balance bike that allows your child to learn to balance and steer with the comfort of having their feet near the ground.
Learning to balance first will give your child a smooth, effortless transition to pedalling.
When your child grows out of the little balance bike, the rear of the frame rotates turning LittleBig into a big balance bike with a higher saddle and longer handlebar reach.
After your child becomes confident whizzing around independently, a pedal and crank assembly can be fitted to the balance bike transforming it into a fully functioning kids pedal bike.
By morphing from a little balance bike into a big pedal bike, LittleBig can be used from the age of 2 to 7 while keeping the correct fit for your child.
As LittleBig is designed to last for 5 years, its lightweight aluminium frame has been carefully finished and comes fitted with high quality parts like those on a proper bike – only little.
Sizing and Geometry
As the LittleBig changes between it’s three modes, it goes from the equivalent size of a standard 12 inch balance bike, to that of a 16 inch pedal bike. Both the saddle height and the handlebar reach increase, allowing for your child’s additional growth. As well as these frame adjustments, the saddle, handlebars and stem are like those you would find on an adult’s bike, so can independently adjusted to further fine tune the bike’s fit. In order to use a balance bike safely, it’s important that the bike is the correct fit for your child. Your child’s inside leg length should be the same or slightly longer than the minimum saddle height, which for the LittleBig is 350mm. It is important that your child can sit on the saddle with their feet comfortably on the ground. This will ensure that they have a successful start on their new bike.
How to Measure
Measure your child’s inside leg with shoes on, from floor to top of inseam. The inseam length should be at least the same as the minimum saddle height (350mm), or preferably a little longer.

Frequently asked Questions
What is a balance bike?
A balance bike – also known as a running bike or training bike – is a bike without pedals that allows your child to develop their control, steering and motor skills with the confidence of having their feet near the ground. Your child can begin by simply walking with the bike (Fred Flintstone style!) and in their own time, learn to glide along happily with their feet tucked up behind them.
Once your child can coast along by themselves, the transition to a pedal bike is easy. With the LittleBig’s simple pedal and crank attachment, your child can learn to pedal without having to change bikes meaning more confidence, more safety and more peace of mind for you.
What is the LittleBig bike?
For children aged 2-7 years, the LittleBig is a unique new 3-in-1 bike that grows with your child.
Starting as a small balance (pedal-less) bike, LittleBig first allows your child to learn how to balance and steer without pedals getting in the way.
Your child has outgrown the small bike? No problem. LittleBig’s unique frame inverts to increase both saddle height and handlebar reach.
As your child masters balance and steering, easy customisation converts the balance bike into a full pedal bike. Your child can go on using this frame size up to age 7, eliminating the need for new and expensive replacements.
Are there different sizes available?
No, the LittleBig is 3 bikes in 1 that changes size, from the equivalent of a typical balance bike with 12 inch wheels, to that of a 16 inch wheeled pedal bike. In addition to these frame adjustments, the saddle, handlebars and stem are similar to what you’d find on an adult’s bike so can be independently adjusted to further fine tune the bike’s fit. More sizing information can be found on our sizing and geometry page.
Can I add pedals to the little balance bike?
No, there is not enough ground clearance in the little bike to add pedals. Typically, by the time children are ready to pedal, it’s likely they will have grown into the big bike. For more information on the LittleBig’s sizing, click here.
Don’t all bikes grow?
Some normal bikes do have a limited range of seat-post and handlebar adjustment. Raising the seat-post has very little affect on the reach to the handlebars, resulting in a cramped cockpit that is awkward and uncomfortable to use.
LittleBig is different, the actual frame grows, meaning it can cover a much wider size and age range. In addition to it’s unique growing frame, LittleBig has all of the usual saddle and handlebar adjustments, meaning you can fine tune the fit for optimum comfort.
